Phighting Phils!

Well, the Phillies made it to the World Series again this year. Their #1 fan (Maverick) will cheer them on and wear his Phillies gear. Thanks to Grandmom and Grandpa Reitano! :)

Winter time!

This is Maverick's first winter in Alaska. He saw his first snow a couple weeks ago, and he loves it! He loves to play in and eat the snow. Below are some pics of him! :)

He just looks guilty....

Baby Shower

I threw a surprise baby shower for Jerry's Commander's wife, Sarah. It was a lot of work, but it really paid off. Here's a couple of pics of what it looked like before people got there. I am especially proud of my diaper cake that I made!!!! :)

Maverick's Graduation

Well, this is up a little late, but Mav graduated puppy obedience school on July 29th. He even got the prize for best trick! :) His trick is "walk"... he will walk on his back two legs. Below are a few pics from graduation and a video of him just running around and playing with some of the other dogs.

Whitewater Rafting

On Friday, July 3rd, we went whitewater rafting in Denali park. It was so much fun! Luckily, it was the most beautiful day of the year, so far. Sunny and 82! It's been a nice 4th of July holiday. See more pics on the webshots page!

Going into one of the class 3 rapids. (I'm in the yellow helmet in the upper right of the pic, and Jerry is in front of my in the blue helmet)

In the rapid... looks like we're completely under water!

Jeff-fah-fah

As my Christmas present, I got tickets to go see Jeff Dunham. He's my favorite! I waited 6 months to the day to go see him on June 25th. He was hilarious! Got tons of pics. See the webshots website for more.

Solstice Weekend

For those of you who don't know, last weekend was the summer solstice weekend. The summer solstice (longest day of the year and beginning of summer) was on Sunday. It's a big deal in Fairbanks because we reach 24 hrs of daylight. It's pretty cool.... much better than dark all of the time like in the winter here.

Every year Fairbanks has a big festival downtown, the "Midnight Sun Run", Midnight baseball game, and usually the local radio station hosts a big name band. This year, Puddle of Mudd came. We're not huge fans, but it's something to do. We went to the concert on Friday and got soaked from all the rain while waiting in line to get in. There were literally puddles of mud everywhere.... hehe! (that was sort of the ongoing joke that night) Sunday was the festival downtown, and it basically consists of food, crafts, and games. We, of course, forgot the memory card for the camera that day, but below are some pics from the concert. Keep in mind the pics were taken in the middle of the night!

Waiting on the band to begin... had to get as many beers as we could so we didn't spend 1 1/2 hrs in the beer line like last year

The crowd... pretty cloudy that night, but still pretty bright for nighttime!

Welcome home, Maverick!

Maverick made the long journey from Denver, Colorado to Fairbanks on Thursday! I had to pick him up from the airport, as Jerry was playing Army all week. Jerry finally got to meet him Friday evening. Training the puppy will definitely be a two person job.
It was a long trip for little Mav, but he's adjusting well. He's a lot smaller than he looks in most pictures... a little over a foot long. He is a typical Jack Russell with tons of energy. He likes to run around, jump high, pounce, and chase his tail. He has his crazy side, but he also loves to crawl in your lap and fall asleep. He spent most of the day on Friday doing just that. We're so excited he's here and we're enjoying the entertainment!

Maverick got a gift in the mail from Miss Rocky! Don't have any pics of the gifts, yet, but Maverick says, "Thank you, Rock!"
Also, there are more pics of the little guy on our webshots page.

Jerry's Promotion

Today Jerry got promoted from 1st Leiutenant to Captain. :) I was lucky enough to be able to "pin" or velcro on his rank. After he was official, a lot of the soldiers tied up his arms and legs with duct tape and threw cold water all over him. He was soaked, but it was all in good fun. A big and exciting day! :)

Halibut Fishing

My boss, Tony, and his family were kind enough to invite Jerry and I to go halibut fishing in Ninilchik, AK over Memorial Day weekend. We left Friday evening and got back Monday evening. We really "roughed it" in Tony's high-tech RV. It was a long drive, but was worth it. In Alaska, each person is allowed to keep two halibut a day, and we met our limit. Three couples ended up with 21 fillets each. Quite a success! Can't wait to go fishing again. :) Look at our webshots page for more pics.

Maverick

Yes, I know, it's been a while since I've written anything! I just wanted to post some pics of our new Jack Russell puppy. He should be arriving in Fairbanks some time in June. We can't wait!

Merry Christmas!

Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything. Jerry and I have been busy with work and hockey. Jerry's coaching a girl's hockey team and reffing when he's not doing that. Other than that, we're enjoying some time off for the holidays. On Christmas we went to my boss's house and had dinner and played with their dogs. He has 6 Huskies and a Jack Russell Terrier, so we had a ball! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Below are some pictures on Christmas and some pics of our Christmas tree.
